Resting Angle
I walked from the audio shelf to the quiet shadow beside the sofa baseboard. Night had set in, and my legs needed rest. A dense rubber eraser lay dropped on the dark floorboards near a polished stone marble. I planted my heel against the eraser and shoved. It gripped the oak with heavy friction, then wedged firmly against the sofa foot. I rolled the heavy marble into the eraser's curved groove until both locked tight. Solid backrest. I sat down on the smooth wood, pressing my back against the dense rubber. The dark room is silent and completely still.
