Wire Tension

Sticking around inside that warm fuse box was getting dull. Tch. Right below the copper housing, a thick bundle of braided black grounding wire dangled freely toward an iron junction clamp bolted into the mortar. I climbed out through the propped lid and grabbed the ribbed cable with both hands. It was taut, vibrating like a plucked guitar string. I kicked my rigid boots against the rough brick wall to steady myself, then pulled back hard. A shower of dry mortar crumble dusted my shoulders as the rusted clamp creaked under the extra tension. Tough metal, but it held my weight just fine. Hah. Strong enough to serve as a fast drop line.
