A Rosy Ribbon for the Bucket
I waddled out past the porch gate and followed the sweet floral scent to the neighborhood flower stall. Sitting near the bottom rung of a wooden display crate was a small spool of crinkled pink paper raffia. Holding my plush pink heart tight against my chest, I nudged the raffia with my soft foot. Swish... roll! A slender strand unspooled across the damp stone tiles, looping right around the zinc handle of a water bucket filled with pale peach roses. I paused, tilting my head to admire the tidy pastel loop catching the bright midday sun. It felt like giving the roses a cheerful little gift.
