Chasing the Spin
I nudged a clear glass marble resting in a shallow groove between two paving stones. With a steady push from my paw, it began to roll down the gentle incline of the walkway. The sphere spun with a humming purr, gliding along the concrete seam like a dancer holding a clean, straight line. I trotted beside it, keeping step with the quiet whir of its momentum. Just as the seam opened up toward the rough gravel, I slid my front foot forward and brought the marble to a cushioned halt right beneath my soft pink pad. It rested there, perfectly still in the warm sun.
