A Tempting Citrus

My stomach let out a low, grumbling roar, reminding me that lingering idle never filled a belly. I waddled across the polished table toward a giant wooden bowl piled high with fresh fruit. Right near the edge sat a plump, fragrant tangerine. Reaching it with my hands would take far too much stretching, so I hooked two prongs of my golden rake beneath its leafy stem. With a hearty grunt and a satisfying tug, I dragged the ripe orb across the wood right into my path. Fresh citrus perfume filled the air, and I couldn't help a pleased chortle at such an effortless victory.
