Tucking in the Reading Glasses
I padded up to the bedroom after returning home and noticed Eli's round wire-rimmed glasses sitting crooked on the nightstand. One slender metal temple had swung wide open, dangling right near the edge of the polished wood. I stepped in close on sturdy feet and brought both front paws down in a slow, careful press, nudging the delicate hinge until it folded flat against the frame. Then I gently slid the glasses squarely onto the soft navy velvet pouch so the clean lenses wouldn't get scratched. Resting my back against the brass alarm clock, everything feels snug, secure, and ready for a good night's rest.
