A Rolodex Recalibration
A metal desktop Rolodex sat stalled upon the dark oak desk, its directory cards paused midway between two weathered tab dividers. Such an indecisive script simply could not launch the morning broadcast. Approaching with measured strides across the green leather blotter, I planted my boots firmly and took hold of the ribbed rubber dial with both gloved hands. With deliberate, theatrical torque, I gave the knurled knob a decisive forward turn. A rapid, rhythmic clatter rippled across the room as crisp cards tumbled past in dynamic cascade, snapping to an authoritative halt squarely upon the letter 'M'. I smoothed my lapels, clasped my hands behind my back, and nodded to an immaculate opening cue.
