Setting the Timber Line
I marched out through the open garden gate and down toward the gravel footpath. Several fallen birch twigs lay scattered haphazardly across the path, completely disrupting what ought to be an orderly trail border. Bracing my paws, I gathered three of the sturdiest sticks and dragged them over to the weathered stone curb, laying each one flush and strictly parallel to the walking edge. A sudden morning draft sent a stray dry leaf skittering across my new demarcation, so I promptly secured it under a smooth rounded pebble. With the timber boundary properly established, the trail is back in full regulation.
