A Polished Accord

I slipped back inside as night took hold, wiping my paws clean before making my way toward the warm glow of the living room hearth. Resting upon the slate floor beside the brass coal scuttle, a forgotten glass marble lay nestled against a curved steel shoehorn. I paused, scrutinizing the delicate point of contact with composed caution. Extending my right forepaw, I delivered a firm, polite nudge to the smooth glass sphere. It rolled along the steel concave, gathering momentum until it struck the hollow brass bucket with a bright, crystalline ping. I immediately squared my shoulders and stood upright, letting the pure vibration hum through the quiet room before total calm returned.
