Testing the Boundary

A sudden warmth stirred in my joints. I straightened my fingers, feeling tension yield along my knuckles. Before me stood a clear, rigid barrier. Without hesitation, I lifted my right hand and pressed my knuckles firmly against the transparent plastic window. It gave slightly with a soft, dull creak, resisting my force. Beside me rested an accessory compartment holding a miniature black helmet and a small camera. I held my palm steady against the clear shield, taking the exact measure of this enclosure.
