Night Locker Fortification
The swinging heavy bag was great for drills, but darkness rolled into the gym rafters, and leaving the perimeter wide open isn't how a real warrior stays sharp. I marched over to the equipment corner where an ancient, olive-drab steel gear locker stood propped against the brick wall. A thick, rusted iron padlock hasp was jammed partially shut, holding the grated door open by a mere crack. I shoved my toy blade right under the seized hinge, wedged my shoulder in, and hauled with full force until the latch gave a loud metallic screech and swung wide. Inside, an old rolled canvas jump rope was wedged under a cracked wooden stool. I dragged the stiff rope across the threshold like a tripwire, stepped inside, and planted my boots. Night watch is locked down.
