A Fallen Green Bead
I padded softly across the warm wooden sill... and paused. Right beside a round ceramic pot, a single succulent leaf had tumbled loose onto the dry soil. It lay curled, so silent and still. I crouched down low. With both paws, I nudged the chubby green petal upright into a patch of soft dirt, brushing away stray grains of dust. It rested comfortably now... like a tiny sleeping friend in its own little bed.
