A Powdery Blue Path
I slipped past the patio door threshold, eager to stretch my fuzz outside after a long sleep indoors. Resting against the bottom garden step lay a thick stub of sky-blue sidewalk chalk. Swaying closer step-by-step with an inquisitive trill, I nudged the flat end with my lower rounded lobe. Skrrr-scritch! It scraped firmly across the textured stone, shedding a vibrant trail of powdery blue dust. Delighted by the mark, I braced myself and guided the chunky piece forward, drawing a bold colored stripe that linked one flagstone to the next. I swayed back, proud of my very own little road.
