A Soft Tumble

I scrambled down from the windowsill and waddled toward the big wicker basket sitting by the corner. Inside was an overflowing hill of freshly dried laundry! I didn't hesitate—I reached both arms up and leaned my whole chest against the rim to peer in. My feet tipped right off the carpet, and with a soft whoosh, I tumbled headfirst into a warm, fluffy mountain of knitted sweaters and soft cotton blankets. It smelled like clean lavender and sunshine. I burrowed my snout deep into a folded fleece throw, kicking my short legs until I was tucked completely into the cozy textile nest.
