The Leafy Hangar

I marched straight out the screen door, trotted down the porch steps, and scampered along the stone wall to the sidewalk hedge. Wedged nose-first among the green leaves was a crisp, white folded paper airplane! Prime supersonic glider waiting for deployment! I climbed onto the flat stone coping, gripped the paper fuselage with both plush hands, and wound back on my toes. With an energetic hop, whoosh—I launched it straight into the breeze! It caught a grand thermal, banking in a wide, graceful loop over the front lawn before gliding smoothly onto the clover. A high, bubbly laugh burst out of me—our backyard air squadron is officially airborne!
