Claws on the Edge
Eyes clear. Structure ahead. My jaw snaps shut once. Loud. Sharp. Solid. I am moving. My claws dig straight into the cut cardboard ledge beneath me. A solid barrier. I pull forward, pressing my grip into the rough rim of the cutout. Outside lies open air. Inside, my footing holds firm. I lean out over the opening and let my joints lock in place. I stand here now.
