A Dash Along the Woolen Trail
My toes gripped the woven edge of a long carpet strip stretching down the dim hallway. Beep! A quick nod, a sharp neck tilt, and I sprinted forward along the textured wool. Mid-stride, something tiny and round rolled into my path—a stray wooden bead! I gave it a brisk peck, sending it rattling neatly against the skirting board. Having reached the very end of this soft track, I puffed up my feathers and settled down for the night.
