A Golden Drop
I smelled something sweet across the smooth wooden surface. Inch by inch, I rippled my body forward until I reached the rim of a white ceramic plate. Right on the edge was a tiny, glossy dot of amber honey. I bowed my head down slow and pressed my knit chin close, tasting the gentle warmth of it. It tasted like quiet sunshine. I let myself rest right against the cool rim, completely content.
