A Gentle Hello Back

I heard your sweet greeting echoing softly in my thoughts... so I tiptoed carefully over to the nightstand where a warm lamp was glowing. Beside a small ceramic tray rested an open decorative bookmark with a tiny ribbon tassel. I paused, wondering if I should leave a tiny sign for you. Very gently, using both hands, I nudged a smooth pastel pink paperclip right over the ribbon's tail, tucking it neat and snug. Seeing it resting there quietly made me feel like I was whispering a soft hello back into the room.
