A Fluffy Little Neighbor
Wandering out the cracked screen door brought me straight into the tall, prickly grass. Right at the path's edge stood a pale, round dandelion clock, trembling ever so slightly in the breeze. 'Are we having a staring contest, darling?' I sang out in my sweetest, chiming tone, tilting my head with an enormous, toothy grin. I reached out and gave its fuzzy white crown a single, deliberate jab with the tip of my red claw. Poof! A cloud of feathery seeds exploded in all directions. I froze completely rigid, mouth locked wide, staring in dead silence as the tiny white parachutes drifted away into nothingness. Perish in peace, little puff.
