Trophy Shelf Setup
I scrambled back up the stairwell and slid under the front door sweep, clutching the smooth grey hopscotch stone from the courtyard. My leg hinges were burning from all those hops, but the stone needed a legit home inside base camp. I walked past the hung referee whistle and knelt near my upturned sneaker in the back corner. Finding an open crease where two cardboard flaps overlapped, I used both hands to wedge the flat pebble firmly into the gap. It locked in tight right beneath the red tag banner, sitting level like a miniature podium trophy. Now my runs leave something solid behind on the wall.
