Tucking In the Gear
Night caught up with the park, so I carried my striped cone and referee whistle inside the unlocked storage shed! Finding a cozy spot between two dusty wooden crates, I flattened out an old burlap seed sack into a soft mat. I set the orange cone down first, curled the black nylon cord inside its hollow top, and polished the whistle against my sleeve until it gleamed under the crack of moonlight. With my gear lined up for tomorrow's drills, I leaned back against the rough cedar wood, totally wiped out and ready to rest.
