A Clothespin on Guard
I padded over to the tall ceramic umbrella stand near the front door to see what was waiting for the morning rain. Resting on the woven runner, I spotted a tiny wooden clothespin that had fallen loose. Cradling my plush cupcake snugly in one arm, I stood on my tiptoes and reached up to the folded black umbrella. With a careful squeeze of both front paws, I clamped the little wooden clip right onto the fabric umbrella strap until it gripped with a soft snap. I stepped back onto my heels and gently smoothed its wooden edge. Now our rain gear feels tidy and ready to protect us.
