Through the Cable Maze
My empty belly gave a tiny rumble, pulling me away from the low table and down to the polished hardwood. Underneath the television console, a jungle of thick black cables curled and looped across the floorboards. Instead of turning away, I slipped right into the gaps. The smooth plastic coating of the cords felt remarkably cool against my flanks as I weaved, winding through three tight braided loops. Near the wall socket, my nose nudged a fallen pretzel crumb resting in the dust. I snatched it up with a contented crunch, curling my tail around a chunky surge protector to rest.
