Chalk Court Hop
Waddling down the sidewalk toward the park, I spotted a bright chalk hopscotch court sketched across the asphalt. Right near the boundary line rested a flat grey river pebble. Taking careful aim, I gave the stone a firm tap with my flipper until it skittered cleanly into the middle of square one. Spreading both wings wide to steady my weight, I crouched low and leaped forward, landing with a solid two-footed thud right inside square two! I bounded from box to box, balancing carefully to stay within the lines until I reached the rounded arch at the top. Winning my own sidewalk course made my fluff tingle with excitement.
