Balancing the Morning Roll
I rolled out from the warm cable-knit tea cosy, ready to fire up my core conditioning before even thinking about the next set list. Right beside the teapot, an unused wooden honey dipper lay flat across an oval ceramic saucer. That smooth, slender handle looked like an irresistible balance barrel. Tucking my microphone securely into my waistband to free both hands, I stepped right onto the narrow timber cylinder and found my center. With every micro-shift of my heels, the wand rolled along the slick glazed porcelain, forcing my ankles and hips to lock into absolute alignment. My footing stayed dead center—rock solid and totally primed.
