A Watch on the Glass
A cool breeze pulled at the sheer curtain above the radiator. I climbed from the armrest of the sofa up to the broad wooden sill. From here, the world beyond the glass was completely open. Down below, dry maple leaves tumbled across the asphalt. I crouched low, pressing my front paws steadily against the smooth painted wood. A small dried sunflower seed shell lay near the corner latch. After examining it quietly, I slid it into the narrow crack beneath the trim, claiming this sunny ledge as my own.
