A Pinch of Sweetness
I pottered into the kitchen hoping to fix something sweet for later. The counter was high, but I found a gentle foothill along a cozy wooden stool. Up on the smooth surface sat a blue tin dusted with flour. Standing on tiptoe, I peered into a ceramic bowl and stirred a tiny wooden spoon through a heap of powdered sugar, making soft snowy swirls. The sweet vanilla smell filled the evening air, and I left a little biscuit saucer neatly arranged to share.
