Tucked In by the Door

My paws were chilly from the wooden deck slats, so I squeezed back inside through the door crack! Right beside the threshold, a heavy knitted wool mat was curled up at the corner like a tiny cave. I scrambled over the rough fibers, squirming headfirst into the warm fold. A stray smooth wooden button was nestled deep inside! I gave it a gentle nudge with my nose until it clicked into place right under my cheek, and I curled up in the warm dimness, ready to drift off.
