Setting Sail

I scrambled up onto the carved base of the garden birdbath, hauling myself onto the mossy stone rim to inspect the water. Floating right near the edge was a broad, curly sycamore leaf, just begging for a proper sea trial. I leaned down, snatched an acorn cap off the damp lawn, and balanced it square in the middle of the leaf like a tiny wheelhouse. Propping my snout over the chilly water, I puffed up and blew a steady breeze across the surface. Whizz! That golden barge glided smooth as silk right to the opposite shore without tipping an inch. Oi! Admiral of the manor, innit!
