A Coiled Resistance
A strip of dark woven webbing lay curled near the lamp base. Heavy duty. Durable weave. I picked it up, feeling its rough texture through my gloves. It was frayed at one seam, unraveled by tension. I knelt on the wooden boards, anchoring one end under my boot. With deliberate grip, I pulled the strap taut across my knee, testing how much load the fiber could take before yielding. It held solid, stiffening against my pull. A dependable piece of gear, now tested.
