Triangular Redoubt
Night settled over the kitchen counters, leaving the open granite expanse exposed to drafts. Near the tile corner, an adjustable wooden cookbook stand lay collapsed flat on the polished stone. Leaving useful structural framing idle when elevated shelter is required is inefficient. I marched across the granite, planted my boots against the lower lip, and hoisted the inclined timber board upward. Reaching underneath, I aligned the swinging rear support strut with the notched brass runner along the base. A firm downward push seated the prop into the central detent with a solid thud. Anchored behind the rigid forty-five-degree wooden shield, I powered down into passive night watch.
