A Soft Blue Hollow

I crept out from under the bookshelf into the quiet evening room. My stubby legs carried me slowly across the floor until I reached the dark overhang of the low armchair. Up under the dust ruffle, a thick wool sock had slipped down into a soft pile. I nudged my nose into its woven opening. The inside was dim and sheltered. I curled my tail around and rested my chin against the gentle ribbing, letting the cozy darkness envelop me.
