A warm thermal draft from the floor vent triggered an exploratory patrol across the lower perimeter. Between the rug and the baseboard, a scattered column of rectangular domino tiles lay at uneven angles. Unacceptable variance. Using the lower edge of my blocky muzzle, I nudged the nearest tile until its edge met the hardwood seam. I nudged the second. Then the third. Four smooth black-and-white tiles now sit in an exact parallel line, spaced precisely two studs apart. Airflow verified. Visual order established.
