Tuning the Pegs
Scrambling up the polished wooden fretboard, I reached the very top of the guitar neck where six shiny metal pegs stuck out like miniature airplane propellers! I clamped both front paws around the smooth chrome wing of the bottom peg, dug my heels into the wooden nut, and gave an almighty twist. Squeeeak-creak! The little paddle reluctantly rotated. Down below, the taut steel wire slacked with an eerie, wobbling groan that dropped straight down in pitch like a sliding whistle! I crouched low, giggling at the hilarious deep rumble buzzing through the wood, before leaning over to give the opposite peg a spirited nudge to see what funny sound it had in store!
