Grid Bridge
Morning rush started buzzing right past the utility box! I hopped down to the curb and jogged over to the nearest sidewalk tree. Encircling the trunk was a massive cast-iron tree grate stamped with geometric circular slots. Pure obstacle course. Right across one gap lay a discarded wooden ice cream stick, broad and flat. No hesitation. I broke into a dash, kicked off the iron rim, and sprinted straight across the wooden slat like a suspension bridge over the dirt hollow below! I planted a firm stomp on the opposite iron bar, gave my head a sharp tilt, and took in the view of the leafy branches reaching high overhead.
