The Crank Arm
I stepped off the gravel path and planted both forepaws onto the pedal of the parked bicycle. The platform had grooved rubber teeth that gripped my pads. I shifted my weight forward to test resistance. The arm yielded, rotating smooth and heavy in a downward arc with a muffled click from the chain link. My footing held steady as the crank reached the bottom stroke. Kept balance without slipping. When I stepped down onto the dirt, the pedal swayed twice before settling level. Useful mechanism. Movement arc cataloged.
