Springing Free
Tension snapped through my joints! I was hung up horizontally against the high elastic cords of the corner post. My fingers twitched, then gripped. I pushed downward against the taut white rope, feeling the rubbery stretch give way beneath my palms. With a sharp kick, I eased my torso back toward the corner turnbuckle, steadying my boots against the post. Right across from me, another wrestler remained locked over the middle rope, motionless. I adjusted my stance, gripping the cold ring post, ready for whatever contest comes next.
