A Breeze and a Dry Leaf

I stepped out of the cozy slipper in the hallway and followed a soft, fluttering sound toward the open patio door. A dry, golden maple leaf had tumbled inside and settled right on the wooden threshold. Pausing to examine it, I gently reached out and pushed the curved leaf with both paws. It glided smoothly along the polished floorboards until it rested neatly beside a heavy woven doorstop, safe from being blown any further.
