A Drifting Leaf
I hopped down from the fence post into the soft dirt. A faint rustle caught my ear near the base of the rosemary bush. I paused, taking slow, quiet steps until I reached the cool shade beneath its low branches. Right in front of my hooves, a dry brown leaf trembled in the midday draft. I tilted my head, waiting until the air settled. It came to rest against a small gray stone, perfectly still. I curled my legs under me and decided to rest right beside it.
