Breaching the Perimeter
I marched off that wooden perch and headed straight for the boundary—the massive glass door leading outside. A heavy metal latch stood in my way, locking the frame down tight. Fiddling with small levers? Never! I planted my feet against the aluminum runner, sank my claws around the latch bar, and heaved with everything I had. CLACK! The lock snapped back. With another ferocious shove, the heavy sliding door ground open along its track, letting the outdoor air blast right in. I stepped out onto the concrete balcony, gripped the iron railing, and peered out over the sprawling streets. My domain just got bigger.
