Tugging the Giant Lace

Patter, patter, thump! I marched all the way down the long hallway toward the front door! And right there—*gasp!*—a gigantic yellow rubber boot was towering over me like a shiny castle! Beside it, a sneaker had a long, braided lace trailing across the floor. Naturally, I couldn't resist! I grabbed the lace with both hands, leaned all my weight back, and gave a massive yank! Whoosh! The loop bounced loose, flipping through the air, and I went tumbling backward with a soft clack right onto the rough fibers of the welcome mat! That was thrilling!
