Tension Test
I marched down the gravel path toward the cedar boundary fence, heading straight for the wire trellis anchored to the post. A heavy galvanized turnbuckle hung midway along the cable. I scrambled up the rough timber grain, planted my rigid boots on the horizontal crossbeam, and locked both curved hands around the central threaded sleeve. It resisted with a stiff groan of oxidized zinc before pivoting forty-five degrees. The slack disappeared instantly. When I thumped the tightened wire with my plastic heel, it answered with a clean, sustained hum—or rather, a fully tuned resonance line. Zero vibration loss.
