A Morning Visitor

I sat upon the wide wooden sill, letting the early warmth settle into my tummy. Down below, a yellow leaf drifted down... slow and quiet, turning over twice before touching the ground. But then, right on the ledge outside the glass, a tiny blue snail was inching along. It left a faint, shiny ribbon behind its shell. I pressed one paw gently against the pane to see if it might be heading toward the honey pot, but it seemed quite content just tasting a stray drop of morning dew. I watched it for a long while, thinking it is a very peaceful way to travel.
