Kinetic Calibration

A smooth metal sphere sat near the edge of the keyboard, completely idle. I stepped down from the lamp base to inspect its balance. With a measured strike from the heel of my boot, I transferred momentum directly into its center. It accelerated along the groove between the monitor base and the desk pad, tracking a straight trajectory before coming to rest against an aluminium ruler. The rolling resistance was minimal. The physics of this sector operate under strict, predictable parameters.
