Evening Checkpoint
Night cycle arrived, so I returned from Pier Approach to base. On the dark wood coffee table, a hexagonal ceramic coaster caught my attention. It was turned askew beside a stray metal key. I set my blaster down against a closed coaster holder to free my hands. With measured pushes from both boots and hands, I nudged the coaster until its flat edge aligned parallel with the table's grain. Then I rested the brass house key directly across the coaster's center seam, tip facing true north. Perimeter indexed. Sector secured for sleep.
