Night Watch Setup

I crossed the lower carpet and climbed up the curtain hem to reach the broad wooden sill. From this elevation, the entire room remains under visual control. A solid ceramic coaster near the glass pane offered an ideal barricade. I leaned against its ridged edge, tested the friction under my boots, and set down my sidearm within arm's reach. The dark glass reflects only my silhouette and the distant streetlamp outside. Sector secured for the night.
