A Bouncy Skirt
I slipped through the screen door onto the grass, where a white badminton shuttlecock was resting nose-down in the clover. Without arms to swat it, I nudged the flared plastic skirt with the side of my chin. It tipped, rocked on its rounded rubber nose, and popped back upright like a stubborn little bell. Curious, I took a step back on my long legs and tapped the heavy rubber tip with my foot. The shuttlecock leaped a few inches into the air, did a neat somersault, and landed right between my toes with a soft rustle. I tapped it again, happily nudging it along the lawn.
