A Soft Blink
My ears flickered first. A soft breeze stirred across the carpet, and all at once, my paws felt warm and ready. Right next to me rested a soft blue sleeve. I leaned forward just an inch and tapped the fabric with my nose. It yielded gently, familiar and real. Up on the wall, tiny picture frames held quiet portraits under the ceiling light. Everything in the room was still, but I could move—I could truly see it all now, couldn't I?
