A Slithering Cable

A long, braided charging cord lay coiled like a sleeping serpent on the dark floorboards under the coffee table. Crouching low with my wings tucked tight, I crept through the shadow and gave a sharp, curious trill. The smooth aluminum plug glinted faintly in the dim room. I nudged the sleek metal tip with my snout, sending it sliding with a quiet scrape across the wood. When the loop uncurled and snapped back against the table leg, I sprang sideways on all fours, tail flicking as I waited for it to strike back.
